CGS Fiji Graduates 13 from First 80-Hour Basic Guard Course Class

Continuity Global Solutions, LLC announced that CGS Fiji has graduated thirteen professionals from its first 80-hour Basic Guard Course class. By providing this course, CGS is able to employ local nationals who understand the nuances of language and culture in the country and simultaneously ensure they have the professional skills and knowledge required to protect and support the Embassy in Suva.

The course was taught by two Continuity leaders who are former Marines and have spearheaded projects around the globe for several years, Kenneth Crutcher and Alfred Leggett, assisted by Project Manager Naulu Lutunicaucau. Some of the topics covered in the training include Access Control, Vehicle Screening, Personnel Screening, Threats, Weapons of Mass Destruction, First Aid, and Unarmed Defense.

“This course is essential because it provides the level of training and awareness that is needed to protect our Embassy here in Suva, Fiji,” said Kenneth Crutcher, Program Manager at Continuity. “The quality standards we adhere to are far superior to courses provided by other security company’s in Fiji.”

Alfred Leggett, Vice President of Security Services for Continuity, said of the class, “This training is a Department of State requirement for all security officers working on a Local Guard Program at U.S. Embassies. Because of our extensive experience protecting over 30 Missions around the world, we are uniquely qualified to help prepare students for a wide variety of challenges.”

The Basic Guard Course spanned a total of 84 hours from January 15-25, 2024. Students were given instruction on theory, practical applications, and an 8-hour exercise.

“Kenneth Crutcher and Alfred Leggett are some of the finest leaders at Continuity, securing Missions and serving as program managers for years,” said Continuity CEO Steve Hartsuff. “As a result, we know that the graduates of this course have had the very best instruction. Now this cohort will be able to take that experience and put it to work at the Embassy in Fiji.”
